I know that separated bike paths are a great idea, it certainly makes biking feel safer, in most cases. But as I was riding to Griffy Lake the other day, I noticed that car drivers can and do make some mistakes that threaten even well separated bike paths. This picture was taken on Old 37, just a hundred yards from the intersection of Cascades and Walnut not far from Griffy Dam. The sign says 30 MPH, but the motorist who ran into it, and onto the bike path must have been going much faster.
