Bikes, Hikes, Music, Mushrooms

Retired boomer, out to walk my dogs, ride my bike, and hike the forest paths around Monroe County Indiana. Recently found ADHD runs in my family, and apparently gallops in me…

Boomer Tech

IT Support for My Generation

Ok Boomer, I represent that remark! Those of us of certain age, those not born with a silicon controller in our hands, sometimes hit roadblocks in our digital lives. I am here to help! Computers, Tablets, Printers, Phones, Ebikes, all them ding-dang digital tools, they are all within my purview. I can consult (i.e. talk about it), take a look at your setup, shop for tech, install new hardware, fix what you have already; whatever you need to stay safely on the digital highway is on the manu.

Services I will gladly render:

  • Hardware/Software Troubleshooting
  • Diagnosis, repairs, and upgrades
  • Mac, Windows, Linux
  • Purchase Advice
  • Online Storage – Backup/Recovery
  • Peripherals/Printers – maintenance and repair
  • New tech setups: computers, phones, tablets
  • Facebook/Instagram/Bluesky/Threads
  • On site Service/Repairs. I’ll come to you (on my bike).
  • Networking – Wireless & Ethernet
  • Ebike Services – Advice, Setups, Maintenance, Repairs
  • Occasional masonry/home repairs accepted as well, I like to get outside!

I accept tips, gratuities, trades or simple adoration, I am not in business! This service is for friends and neighbors who need an experienced cyber tool (me) to help out around the ranch!

With 30 years experience in purchasing, building, setup, maintainance & backkup of computers, servers, printers, tablets and phones, I can crack just about any digital nut. At the turn of the century in addition to being an webmaster, I was IT manager for the Bloomington Voice/Independent, and provided printer support for both General Sign and Everywhere Signs, but eventually signed on to the Borg..

I worked full time as an IT Pro at IU for 17 years, maintaining servers, printers, back-up tapes, and workstations. It was good work, I enjoyed it, but when Covid hit, IU no longer needed my position, so I was forced into retirement.
So, I opened Zephyr Ebike Workshop, but I stink at doing business, and three years was enough to convince me to re-retire. It seems I can make money only when I provide service, not when passing along a product; I am anti-capitalist by nature!

I am bored of being retired. I need to get out and interact with my people, and help where I can. My most extensive expertise is in IT, so kids, I am back on the market for anyone needing a quick free consult, I am offering my services to one and all, but mostly to my my my generation. I am hoping I can greet old friends and meet new ones. Give me a ping if you need a hand with any of the items listed below, we can work something out.
